Sprucing up a Master Bedroom: From Drab to Dreamy!

A month or two ago,
I blogged about going to my client's, Patti's, and
making over her living room.
Yesterday,
I returned to tackle her loft master bedroom.
Take a look:
BEFORE:
 Walking into the room,
you see the side of the bed.
Patti's bedside table is too small and low,
so she has it pulled away from the wall
with a lamp sitting on stacked boxes.
We can do better than this, Patti!!!!
 Directly across from her bed…
…is this dated mirror.
It's definitely going bye-bye…..

On the right side of the room is a chest of drawers…
with a mirror on top..
…and beside that an opening to the vaulted living room.
Over on the far wall is a large picture window, and plants.
Patti has a desk sitting under the window with plants on it.
I really want to move up the curtain rod
to give the room a feeling of more height.
And to the left of that,
a dresser with more plants.
And back to the bed…

Patti wants to spruce up the room
by hanging art and using
her decorative items,
and also make the room
more functional.

And after four hours of
SheShe playtime,
here's what the room
looks like now!
AFTER:
  Welcome!
The bed gets lots of throw pillows
and a vintage coverlet.
Above the bed,
I've hung a collage of some of her paintings.
A pair of tall lamps flank the bed on either side.
Beside the bed,
I placed an ethnic area rug for warmth...
 Remember the bedside table?
Now she has a taller table with a lamp that is functional.
Moving over to the right side of the room,
i replaced the vertical dresser with this horizontal piece
to better fill the space..
Above it, artwork.
 Below the atrium window:
I added some small furnishings
and simply leaned artwork against the wall.
I brought in a narrow display case.
Across from the bed, where that old mirror was,
I positioned the desk.
By placing the vintage mirror above it,
it serves as a vanity.
I used one of Patti's stained glass lamps,
and added candles and a tapestry.
 Over on the back wall,
to the right of the window,
I placed the tall chest of drawers.
I placed artwork on the walls
that picks up the cobalt blue
in the bottles I placed atop the dresser.
See how the lamp illuminates them?
Pops of color!!!!
Perfect.
 I repositioned the curtain rod
and brought in curtains with grommets.
It's important for Patti to draw the curtains at night,
and now they open and close with ease.
Below the window,
I placed all her plants.
And I moved this dresser to the side of the bed
so it can also serve as a bedside table.
I used colorful artwork
for an explosion of color!
I think the bedroom has a lovely eclectic bohemian feel to it now...
And tons of personality with all of Patti's art displayed...
The only purchases I made?
Three throw pillows and a vintage coverlet.
Sweet dreams, Patti.
Your bedroom is dreamy!
