Trashed Tub Chair Gets a Glam Damask Makeover

Okay, so here's the project I started yesterday.
This throw away tub chair…
(Actually I have two, but I'm only doing one for now.)
It's quite comfortable,
excellent springs that surprise you when you sit.
 But boy oh boy,
there is some serious damage going on here.
Do you think perhaps a kitty cat was involved?
Yep, I'm going to have to take out every single one of
these nail heads……...
I started by cutting away all the loose frayed stuff…
After that I removed the nail heads and starting cutting
and then sewing batting to cover the chair.
 What can I tell you?
The kid is into everything!
Today, I'm happy to report it's fini!!!
Definitely not my taste,
but sometimes I like an exercise
in doing something that's totally "not me."
Here's the side/back.
I used this beautiful damask fabric
that I purchased from last year's
(Check out the link if you haven't heard of them…
It's an awesome annual consignment sale!)
My favorite part? The back of course,
where I reversed the fabric.
Sort of wish I had used the reverse for the front!
I used this glitzy beaded tassle trim along the bottom edge.
I also painted the legs in Azure Blue,
Just for a little extra bling!
I used gimp and nail heads along the edges.
Just for a little extra decoration…
like this chair needs it, right?
I think I'll name her "Miss Kitty..."
For more reasons than one!
She's glitzy, glam, over the top…
and proud of it!
 Revisit:
Before
And AFTER
"I am woman hear me roar!"

Going to my booth tomorrow...
or maybe a brothel boudoir near you!!?
